Back and forth, back and forth
I’m going to a German language school this Monday in Berlin to brush up on my Deutsch. I’m lookign forward to it, but I’m also terrified I’ll be crap. I can write it pretty well, speaking is okay but my listening and reading are…awful. D:
It’s a 5 day course but happily we’re going for 10 days. El’s friend is letting me work with her for an afternoon too with the British Council. (Yeeeeeah I know people who know people in good places). Also, because I’m a wimp and totally dependent on others, mum is coming. I just went into her room while she was packing and found her emptying lots of paper bags, emptying marmite crisps (ew) and viscount biscuits out of one.
Here’s what was on all the bags:
Sounding a bit panicked and out of breath she said, “I didn’t realise. How would I explain if they got scanned?”
I couldn’t sop laughing but then I recalled the 1st time we flew to Berlin and how the safety pin she’d had pinned in her bag and caused the airport in London(booo) to ring ahead to Berlin airport saying we were suspicious. Pathetic. Who needs to attack someone with a safety pin when you could easily just take your shoe off and smack someone with it or - requiring less effort - use your fists?
